Armenia, Kingdom of Chess

Armenia maybe one of the countries we aren't familiar with. It's one of the Uni Soviet's pieces after the breakdown of Uni Soviet, a europe-asian country which has suffered quite a lot from genocides and conflicts.

Despite of poor economy, Armenia appears to be home for professional chess players. Many chess masters come from Armenia, and they are praised there as celebrities. Chess games are always become hot news. This prooves that Armenians sure love chess.

China, Rusia, and United States are prooves of Armenian's skillful chess players. Armenian's national chess team won gold in 2006 and 2008. 30 grandmasters of 1000 top chess players are also come from Armenia.

The history of how Armenians have their interest in chess starts with Tigran Petrosians, a legendary chess player. Tigran was the first person representing Armenia in chess championship against Mikhail Botvinnik from Rusia. after 22 games, Tigran received absolute victory and become such high hopes and festivals were being held there

Since that time, chess has become a national pride of Armenia and has been growing a lot until now. Levon Aronian, the world fifth rank of chess masters, shares us the secrets of Armenian's skillful people. Armenians are superior when it comes to chess because basically, Armenians are individualistic and prefers individual games rather than sprts, like soccer, etc. Also, all national players are given salaries, out of the prize money.

Nowadays, chess has been a tradition for Armenians, and schools are also part of it. Chess is being a compulsory to school's curicullum. They have high hopes for the next younger chess players to be the best in chess across the world.
